We start a new unit, quite interesting one. We are going to talk about "city life" and future cities. To break the ice, I want you to think about advantages and disadvantages of living in a city or in a village.
VS
If you had to decide where to live, you would prefer a village or a city?? Write your thoughts on the blog and share your opinion with your classmates.
BFN!!!
Hii to everyone!
ResponderEliminarI think if I had to choose, I would choose the city, because apart from the fact that the city's air is a little bit polluted, it's easier to live and you don't have to use any transport because everything is just so near. For example, I live in a village and I find annoying that if you don't have a car, you have to depend on the buses, and sometimes it's not practical because you want to go somewhere at, for example, 6:15 p.m but the bus doesn't leave until 6:30 p.m. Other thing that is really annoying for me, is that there aren't too many shops in a village and if you want something very especific you aren't going to find it there. But living in a city isn't perfect, because a city is really big and it has a lot of cars, buses, etc, and if you aren't careful (Even if you are) you can get hurt easier than in a village. So, that's what I think.
Lovees xx
Hello everybody!
ResponderEliminarIf I have to choose, I would choose the city because thinking about the advantages and disadvantages in each place, I rather live in the city. There are more shops, more activities to do for example: you can go to the cinema, go shopping, go to restaurants, etc. In a village there are fewer activities to do than in a city, for example: you cannot go to the cinema or go to restaurant. Also is true that in a village there are more security and calm than in a city, I mean: there are less fights and less robberies. For me, that I don’t like insects at all, it’s better to live in a city because in a village there are many insects. Other advantage is that you can meet new people every day and in a village is more complicated. Related to this unit, if you live in a city is probably that you are more fashionable than living in a village because in the cities is more important your clothes than in a village. But I am very happy living here, in Villamayor. It isn’t a city and it isn’t a normal village, it’s between both.
Byeee!! :)
Hello mate! How are you?
ResponderEliminarIf i have to choose one of those options is gonna be the village. My reasons are quite simples: I like more the life in a peaceful place, without high noises or without many people walking quickly. I know that in a village like Villamayor there aren't many shops or places to visit, but after 14 years living here i know how to spend the time and enjoy my days with my friends. It's truth that some days we have to go to the city for buy something that it isn't in a village, or because we have to go to the hospital or something like that, but i really think that a life in a village is better than in a city.
But i want to say the last thing, apart from this, i'm sure that my future is gonna be in a big city, because i want to leave Salamanca soon.
See you tomorrow, bye Xx.
Hi guys. How are you?
ResponderEliminarWell, in my opinion I think that I have to choose the city because there you have got a lot of things and if you live in a village you have to move in car or in another mean of transport because there, there isn't anything, probably other people think that I'm crazy, and they say "I you live here, you are going to be better that in a city, girl" But I like people, crowed streets, undergrounds or simply I like walk around monuments or visit thing that I like. In the city you can go to the cinema, theatre, or go to the shopping centre, or go shopping with your friends. But for example in Villamayor there are a lot of the principal shops tht a village needs. After I moved here, I was living in Salamanaca and I liked a lot because there are my family. I have to say thank you because Villamayr in close to Salamanca, because if this village was far of the city I can live here, I don´t like so much, and that the reason.
See you soon. Love you ♥
Hello everybody!How are you?
ResponderEliminarIf I have to choose one of the options I choose live in the village. But the village next to the city becouse If I have to do something in the city I have it next to me.
I think than the air of the village is fresh and It´s better to the organism than the polluted air.
Something I do not like it is that the village hasn't got big sopping centre.
For me Villamayor is one of my favourite village may be this village in the future it can be a piece of Salamanca
I want to live in a village I think that I like it
Bye, BFN
Hi friends!
ResponderEliminarI think that is very difficult to answer surely about this topic, both places have their advantages and handicaps.
If you want a calm live you'll probably choose the town, because, for example, it won't have that "city streets", that noisy and crowded streets... But most of the people in the town want to go to the cinema so.. what do they do? They have to pay to use public transport or their own vehicles, and that's why living in a city is "more comfortable".
All services are usually located in big cities, but if you think about it you spend a lot of time driving your car, due to the big quantity of people and cars that are on the streets.
Between this two options I prefer to live in a city but, if I could choose any other option I would like to live in a big town near a city. There you have the calm live of a city but everything you want or need to do is near your house.
Hi everybody!
ResponderEliminarI don't mind if I have to live in a village or in a city, but I prefer live in a village close to a city because in a village you do almost always the same things with you friends and if you don't want to stay one afternoon in the village, you can take the bus and go to the city, like many teenagers of Villamayor often do. Also I prefer live in a village near a city because I don't have the disadvantages that there are in a city, like the continuous noisy and the crowded places. Because these disadvantages can make you be stressed and maybe can cause anger, fatigue and memory problems, and if you are a student that's a really big problem. But live in a village has also disadvantages like if you have to go to buy something that you can't find in the village, you have to go compulsorily to the city to buy it, because as Miguel Silleros says, villages don't have big shopping centres, at least as far as I know.
Bye :)
Hi classmates? How are you?
ResponderEliminarWow…village or city? I reckon it’s a really tough decision, isn´t it? I feel that I’d choose living in a village, but in a real one, unlike Villamayor. Nobody knows what this is.
It seems to me that growing up in a village is the best thing that could happen to anyone. The air is fresh, you know a great deal of people who can attend you in specific moments, you get on well with everyone, you become mature, responsible and charming, you’re always in touch with nature, you’re nature, you don’t depend on electronic gadgets…
In terms of disadvantages, I only can claim that there’re no large supermarkets or resources on them. Actually, to head to downtown you have to get over the entire province and that’s too boring…
Living in a city can have its advantages too, but you know, my whole family is from a village and like father like son...
Hello everybody!
ResponderEliminarIn my opinion it’s better to live in a city, and I will most probably live in one when I get older, like Madrid or Barcelona, because in a city you have more liberty to do things like going to the cinema, and that you can’t do in a village. Also, in the cities there are more public services like schools or hospitals and, sometimes, if you life in a village, you have to go to the nearest city to buy certain things or to get a specific cure or treatment.
There are some advantages if you live in a village, like the lack of noise, because normally in a village it’s more quiet and the streets are not so crowded like in a big city. Another benefit by living in a village is that you can do a lot of things during the day, not like in a large city; because if you live in, for example, Berlin, there are long distances from one place to another, and this, in a village, is completely different.
Making it short, I would like to live in a peaceful city, with not too many people nor too much traffic, because if there is a lot of traffic, it’s very difficult to park in the street, and normally you have to pay to enter a parking. Also a solution for this is to go by bicycle, but not all the cities have a bike path around all the places. So the conclusion is what I told at the beginning of this paragraph: I dream of the perfect city although I know that each place has advantages and disadvantages.
Bye.
Hi all
ResponderEliminarI choose the city because I love big citys like London , New York.... Is more pratical to live in a city because you have all the things you want but one of the problem is the distance for example , the city have a cinema and a musseum but those places are very far each to other. But in general i like it because i love to walk. One very good things of the big citys is it have a lot of people and you can choose the girl taht you like jeje . I will live in " Los Angeles " because is perfect. Oh other thing of the city you find the job of your life because there are many possibilities.
Bye guuuuuuuuys
Hi everybody, What´s up?
ResponderEliminarI don´t be clear about the answer of this question because it depends on many factors. For example, the city has more party atmosphere than the village. If you live in a village you can find many good factors related to the environment such as the village has less pollution because there is less traffic than in a city and usually they are located near forest and natural parks and then, you are going to detect a environment without noise and it will be more inviting and also you often eat typical dishes from the village in which you live. The town also has some negatives when you make a comparison with the city , for example the city always has more restaurants and places to buy clothes foods or what ever you want than the village . The city has better services and infrastructures and now one of the things that it is very important is technology, as cities are more technologically advanced than the villages, so many people are going to live in the city to try to improve technologies. It also depends on how old you are. For example if you are a young person, you will want to live in the city because you will meet more people and you will have more social relationships and also you are going to get bored unless than if you live in a village, because if you live in a village, at the end you will be be sick and tired of always doing the same and the opposite happens to the elderly. For example, they want to live in the villages because they like to engage in agriculture or livestock.
Bye Bye
Hi friends, how are you?
ResponderEliminarWell... It is very difficult to choose one of these options but if I say the truth I will choose live in a village, now the Scientists are studying how cities affect our minds and the results are pitiful, since I'm was very little I wanted to live in a skyscraper because of their views, you don't hear the noisy of the cars that are in the street and other so many things and reasons that I would like live in a skyscraper, nowadays I don't like it because it's to hard to make the move... well, I like living in a village because normally these are surrounded by beautiful nature, flowers, trees and open spaces are good for your mind, One of the disadvantages is live in a village far from the city where you can find the stores and the main activities, that is horrible.
bye, see you soon
Hi everybody!
ResponderEliminarWell... I think live in a city can be fantastic and even I would visit the emblematic cities of the world if it’s possible .In a big city you can go to many different sites, you can got to sopping, go to the cinema, you can do many interesting things but you know that the city in the nights can be dangerous, are very busiest, very noisy and including very stressful, there are many people that have sleep problems because many cities “never sleep”. In the other corner we have the villages, a village is quiet, with (in general) not many people and with many nature places because you know the city is a site surrounded by buildings. In a village I think that you can be more free because there aren`t any type of danger but it can be very boring too. In my way I prefer the city but for taste exist the colors
And you? What is your opinion?
See you soon guys :)
Hi mates, new topic!!!!
ResponderEliminarFor me it isn't difficult to say the advantages and disadvantages of living in a place, so let me tell you. In general I like the cities more than the villages. In the cities you have a lot of posibilities, specially if you are a teen, like us. Three years ago my friends and I liked to meet each other in Villamayor, but nowadays we are bored of Villamayor and we go to Salamanca because is bigger, it has more leisure places like cinemas, places to have the dinner and more and more things. But come on!, Salamanca is close to Villamayor, and in our village we have many bus stops, so you can go by bus and the travel duration is only of five minutes, come on man! I am very happy because I can enjoy the Villamayor's nature and peace, and also the crowd and the noise of Salamanca, but probably I will live in a city like Salamanca, or if I get lucky I will live in a big city like Madrid or Barcelona.
See you soon in our village, Villamayor!!! ;)
HI EVERYBODY!!! ;)
ResponderEliminarok...I don't mind if I have to live in a city or in a village, but if I have to choose one I will choose the city, I don't know.. I think most people like living in the village, but.. I like the big cities, they have a lot of advantages like there, is easier to find a job and to get money, also schools are better. There are large shops , banks, offices, cinemas, hotels, clubs, hospitals….,in and around the city. So people can have a comfortable and enjoyable life. But also there are a lot of disadvanteges like, people's behavior in city is distant and unfriendly. But in the village, they are more helpful.
Other disadvantege is that in a village you know very well every person that live there and also everyplace and it is easy to move from one place to another.. but in cities it is totally different.
But I like it so much because you can meet with your friends, go shopping with them, go to the cinema, visit places.. totally different that in villages that everyplace you visit you know it .
And in the future if I can't live in a city I will live in a village but very near to a city or a town.
BFN :) ;)

ResponderEliminarHellooo everybody:
ResponderEliminarAs I have said today in class I prefer to live in a very big city, like New York or Tokio. There you can find a lot of noise and cars, but like everything it has disadvantages and advantages. Also I love cities because you can do many activities, you can spend your leisure time in the cinema or going shopping for example. You can walk around the city at night, but you have enough ligth so it seems like you have a lot of time to do things. You can use the bus or the underground to travel from one side of the city to another, and at the same time that you are moving you're contributing to the use of public transport instead of the own car. Sincerely I don't know why I want to live in a skycraper, maybe because it's funny to have a lot neighbors. I prefer to live in cities because the culture in general. You can talk with a chinnese and at the same time with people that are from Germany or Italy.
One of the principal things that I love are the shops and buy new clothes, so if I'm going work one day, I want to see many shops along the street. Also because of the restaurants. You can eat the food that you want, because normally in the cities you can find many places to eat food from different parts of the world. Adding that I love eat different kinds of foods.
So if i have to imagine me living in one place, it's in an urban center of a big one city.
I wish that one day I could see from my house in a high skycraper the night fallen into the city.

Hi classmates!!!
ResponderEliminarI think I really prefer living in a village, like Villamayor, that is not too small and it is not as big as Salamanca. My reasons are that Villamayor is a calm place, and it is next to Salamanca, so if you need to do something that in Villamayor you cannot, you can go to Salamanca by bus in less than five minutes.
Big cities are very crowded and stressfull, and I really hate that kind of places, because I am used to Villamayor, and I have never lived in a big place.
I think Villamayor is the perfect place for me because it is not big and no small, and we have a High School.
If I need ti choose where to live, I wouldn't thin about it twice, I would choose a Village.

Hi everybody!!!
ResponderEliminarI think live in a village is better than live in a city. I prefer live in a village because the air is helthier and in a village you know more or less who are who; and in a city the air isn't really good and you don't know who was this girl or boy because there are a lot of people. But cities has also good things, for example you can do what ever you want because there are everything in a city, if you want to go to a party you can go it or if you feel bad you can go to the hospital. In a village you cannot doing things like that but village is more peaceful and there aren't any noises about cars or people shouting. And the last thing because I like villages is about the nature. All around a village is nature in that's nice and relaxing look and see that all near you are calm and are not exciting you.
I think that's all and see you tomorrow mates!
Hi everybody!!!

ResponderEliminarFor me, where I live it's ok. I prefer to live in village near to the city, because you have the calm of a village and the services of the city very close to you. Perhaps, depends on the transport such as the bus o your own car is not very confortable knowing that to park a little bit close to the place you want to go is sometimes difficult. Live in a village similar to this, could be better than the city. You have every thing closer than in the city, and you have many different shops, where you can buy whatever you need without depends to live in the city. Here you have calm, and you can be relax, without hear all the noise the crowded does. Probably, if you want to do something different, suchas go to the cinema or do a different and strange sport like rugby for example, you have to travel to the city, but, I think you cannot compare the level of live in each place, because both are very different.
Marco Periañes says,
ResponderEliminarhello classmates
If I had to choose between living here or in Salamanca, i prefer to live in Salamanca
When I was little, I thought tha villamayor was best village, that I had everything you could need and I would stay here to live forever, but when you are more and more older you can see that Villamayor is too small for a guy 17, for example.
Although a city is very noisy and can have illnesses from the pollution, I think it is better because a city has many more shops, more cinemas, parks, in villamayor you can not found much of that and if you have not car or motorcycle you have to take the bus to go to Salamanca.
I prefer to live in Salamanca but Villamayor right.
bye :)
Hi friends!
ResponderEliminarI think that live in a city is very good because is too big a you can do every thing there, but in two months I think I will be sick and tired of the noise the people in the street and other things that won`t like.
For me Villamayor is very calm and small. I prefer living in a town like this because you can hang around with your friends and I like it a lot.
Also the village for me is to small and so calm. There don´t life nobody and it is so strange for me.
So in my opinion I prefer living in Villamayor like other friends do.
Bye, see you at class.
Hi all!!
ResponderEliminarFor me I prefer a big city because today in Spain is to difficult to get a work and if you live in a village even more, so in a city there are a lot of posibilities to find work, another option is to travel to another country to get work in other big cities with other economic conditions.
Another cause why I prefer the big cities is the transport, in a small villages you only have two or trhee bus stops and in a big city you have many bus stops taxis and train stations. You have universities to study and other shops and public establishment
I think that they are the most important causes and conditions to prefer a city than a village.
BFN
Hello.
ResponderEliminarI like a lot where I live, it is a village and it has its good things and its bad things. I think, that when you are little is better to live in a village, it is less dangerous becouse in a village there are less cars and there are less people and you can take a walk with your friends or go to the park and things like this with less danger than in a city. But in a city you have more things to do than in a village, but the city is more noisy because there are more cars and people in the street. The city is better when you have to go to the university, because in a village there isn't university. The city is better to find work, too, because you have more opportunities there than in a village.
Each is good according that you want. Me, know I prefer my village to an other city, because my village is near to the city and that is good, but I thing when I will older I will go to live to a city for find there my job. But for know I prefer Villamayor.
Bye.
HI everyone, First, Im sorry because I have forgotten to post my comment in the blog, Im so sorry.
ResponderEliminarHowever, village or city, I have no idea, I really like my village , I think that to live in a little town have a lor of benefities, like you can park wherever you want, or also the noise, a village is less noisy than a city, and we have read a text about it, the noise is very unhealthy, for our brain too.
Another point is that in a village you can meet people and you always can go out with them, you create something, similar to a familiy but with friends, you know, It´s good to have a group of people in wich you can trust or you know that they will be always there to help you,I repeat, It´s like a second family.
From another side, to live in a city is very interesting too, you have shops , hospitals, big buildings and things like that near you, you don´t always have to take the car or the bus to go to the places, and the people who enjoys the stress... If I were one of thoose people, I city is my place to live.
I´m into go shoping and go cinema or big partys but as I see it, I prefer to live in a town, I like the idea of the ´´little city´´ and the peace of a town is not th same as the peace in a city. In my opinion, Is better the city.
BFN 1best wishes for all
xoxoxo
I think that live in a very big city is so boaring because there are a lot of cars and people and it is very dangerous, and you can get lost also, so you cannot do a lot of things. It is very noisy too, so for studying is a very bad place for living. There are many dwellers living in the big city, so the main streets are always very crowded. I think it can be funnier than live in a village because there are more things to do, like going to the cinema, go shopping or go to a shopping centre for have a look of the new trends or new videogames or what ever you want. I think it has got his disadvantages too, for example, in a village you can go playing football, ride in bicycle, go to the pabellion...I think if you live in a village you are gonna feel more free than in a very big city, but I prefer a small city like Salamanca because it is like a very big village, you can do what ever you want wherever you want. I think in Salamanca you can do a lot of things like in Villamayor we cannot do. One of the things that I like most is that you know all the people and all the people know you, but it is bad too because all the people can know where are you asking to other people.
ResponderEliminarFrom my point of view, Villamayor is a liveable and paceful place for living, so I am very happy living here!
By mates! See you tomorrow ;)
